Although not finished- heres the beginning process for our daughters room. (more pics to come) I've painted a couple baby room murals before (see earlier posts) and each time i improve the process. I found out the hard way that sketching directly on the wall leads to A LOT of painting/re-painting over unwanted pencil lines. Pencil, it turns out, does not go down without a fight. This time i did all my sketching on (to scale) on a large piece of brown butcher paper which i may, or may not, have gotten in a questionable way. After all my sketching and adjusting of curves to get the "ideal" elephant and bird- i simply cut and traced it on the wall. * Tracing with a colored pencil similar to the color i would be painting with REALLY saved me from a lot of touch up work. OH! and you got to love painters tape for getting straight lines :) <--- Not our crib BUT the bedding we will be using. I took all the colors straight from the pillow we purchased (i was too impatient to wait for shower and we didn't want to purchase the whole bedding just in case someone was generous enough to buy it for us) |
