So in our new house i decided to do this wall texture technique (Martha Stewart). You use these combs and add glaze to your paint and then after millions of yards of painter's tape and a lot of patiences to get the lines straight - you get the wall you see here! It turned out GREAT but it needed some art....pictures....anything. So in church after a friend told me about a family that painted the fruits of the spirit on their steps i was inspired! I wanted these precious gifts hung somewhere in our house too! Ergo- the Fruit of the spirit wall. So i took some old frames and bought some shaped wooden blocks and spray painted them white. Then after carefully choosing 6 different spray paint colors (i could have got away with less) I designed and stenciled and xacto-knifed these meticulous letters you see here. In hind-sight i realize i could have designed these in illustrator, printed, and framed them in half the time and money...shwoops. I had fun anyway :) Here is a logo/monogram design I did for my friend Rhonda. She is marrying Randy and their last name begins with K- put it all together and what do you get?.... Well, eventually with plenty of feedback from my "client" you get the design all the way to the right. (Originally they were thinking about a crown since the last name is King but they wanted something less regal but still wedding worthy)
Just had a lot of fun painting a mural for my sister's baby room! The mural was based on the bedroom set they chose from Skip Hop - Its their tree top friends collection. Super cute! Here are some of the images from the room. I love doing work like this!
